Here at Arcadia, we have become increasingly aware of the limitations other journals pin on themselves. They only want a certain word count, a certain brushstroke, a certain aesthetic. We want to put an end to that. We want to see your very best work. Novella, short story, poem, painting, photograph, stand-up comedy routine, album, short film, mockumentary, epic poem about the Dukes of Hazzard, we don't care. We want to see it, read it, hear it, and love it.
Our online submission manager has portals for fiction, poetry, nonfiction, drama, comics, film, music, and our blog, Online Sundries. If you'd like to submit something that doesn't fall into one of these categories, please email the submission or a query to email@example.com. We no longer accept normal submissions through this email (or through regular mail), so please note that regular submissions sent to our email will not be read.
By submitting to Arcadia, you agree to Arcadia's Publication Agreement if selected for publication. Simultaneous submissions
are more than welcome, but please notify us via post or e-mail if your
submission is accepted elsewhere. Response time varies,
but we typically respond to submissions within three to six months,
often much sooner. If you have not heard from us after six months, feel
free to e-mail us with any questions you may have. At this time, Arcadia pays its contributors with two copies of the issue in which their work appears.
We're now charging a $3 submission fee for regular submissions. This fee is close to the postage that would be required for a submission through post, but goes directly to the magazine and helps us keep our doors open.
